Angu do Gomes is a Saúde-neighborhood restaurant built around the dish that gives it its name, serving a menu of angu and its accompaniments on Rua Sacadura Cabral.
The business traces back to 1955, when it operated from street carts that spread across the city and drew workers and bohemians with popular prices; it became a symbol of Rio between the 1950s and 1980s.
