Centro Cultural Justiça Federal
The Centro Cultural Justiça Federal occupies the former home of Brazil's Supreme Federal Court, an eclectic-style building begun in 1905 and inaugurated in 1909.
Designed by architect Adolfo Morales de los Ríos, the building housed the Supreme Court until 1960, then the Superior Electoral Court and federal courts, before reopening as a cultural center in 2001 after seven years of restoration.
Its twelve exhibition rooms, theater, and library sit behind monumental doors carved by Manoel Ferreira Tunes, an iron-and-marble staircase, and a stained-glass window painted by Rodolfo Amoedo.
