Galeão via Terminal Gentileza
Rio de Janeiro/Galeão–Antonio Carlos Jobim International Airport (GIG) is the city's main international gateway, renamed in 1999 to honor the composer whose song "Samba do Avião" name-checks it.
What it offers: GIG executive bus to VLT lines 1 and 4
An executive bus connects the airport to VLT tram lines 1 and 4, giving a direct link into the city's tram network. Since March 2026 the airport has been jointly managed by the RioGaleão concessionary — formed by Infraero, Changi Airport Group, and Vinci — together with AENA, the winner of the reconcession process.
