Passeio Público
The Passeio Público, built after 1779, is the oldest public park in Brazil and one of the oldest in the Americas.
Landscaped by the urban planner Mestre Valentim on what was once the Lapa shoreline, it sits near Cinelândia in the heart of downtown, a green survivor of a city that later filled in the land around it.
